Happy Memorial Day!

From Elder Ellis (email of 5/30):

Hey everyone! It’s been a great week, I can’t believe it’s been a week already. I can’t believe one transfer has gone by. Yes, transfer calls are today. I’ll let you know what happens later! For now, let’s get started with the week!

The parade route!

Man, so a lot has happened. P___ is doing really great! She is progressing so much. We met with her on Wednesday and had an amazing lesson with her. It was awesome. She asked about temples, baptisms for the dead, service, and pretty much everything she didn’t know. She is doing so well and is preparing to be baptized on June 11th!! We are so excited! It’s amazing to see how far she’s come. She’s working so hard for this and she’s excited too. I’m so excited for her!

We also were able to visit with our referral from the Waconia Ward. Her name is E___. We visited her on Saturday with Brother Lyman. We talked with her and got to know her very well. It was really good to visit with her. She asked us a lot of deep questions. She was a prosecutor in Washington DC before she came here. So she basically interrogated us. Hahaha. She’s got a lot of potential and we look forward to working with her more in the future.

Land of 10,000 Lakes: Lake Ann

We had a good lesson with D___ B___. He’s progressing quite well. We had a good lesson with him on Saturday. We taught him about the Word of Wisdom. He basically said, “Yeah I can do that.” We are excited for him to progress too!

This past week has been a great week. We’ve been able to visit with a lot of our less active families and it has been awesome! They are so welcoming and love to have us over. We were able to have dinner with C___ and T___ H___ (they got married a few weeks ago). They are soooooo cool! They are so fun to be around. I’m glad we got to visit with them. We were also able to visit some less active lady who lives on a gorgeous lake.

We also did a lot of biking this past week, #nomiles. My legs hurt, but I think I lost a couple pounds and my appetite. It’s all good though. It hasn’t been too horribly hot…yet. We’ll wait for the June season to come.

I also went on exchanges to Waconia this past week. Elder Baker and I dominated the Waconia area. It was a lot of fun. Waconia has a lot of land and a huge lake next to the apartment. It’s very beautiful.

Chaska High School marching band! Look more comfortable than AF’s!

So I’m late with emailing this week because we spent the morning in downtown Chaska watching the Memorial Day parade and services they had. It was wonderful to take a moment to recognize the sacrifice made to help us stay free in this country. I actually read some of the war chapters in Alma this morning. It’s taken a great deal of sacrifice to get us where we are today. I thank all those who have served and helped us get to where we are today.

Memorial service in downtown Chaska: Always remember!

That’s really all for this week. As for the transfer results, Elder Wilson and I are…staying together in Chaska! Yay! 🙂 So we look forward to working together for another six weeks! 🙂

Well that’s it for this week! Thank you all for the wonderful love and support you show to me! Thank you!!
