Ostvig Family at Conference

Miracles and Conferences

Featured Photo: Met the Ostvig Family at Stake Conference! Sorella Ostvig (left) was companions with Sorella Montagnoli, one of my best friends in my home ward! They are such a sweet family and remind me of Sorella Montagnoli’s parents too.

From Elder Ellis:

Hello all! This week is a party. It was amazing! So much happened, so let’s get started!

So disclaimer: Today we have Zone p-day and we are having a Thanksgiving feast! We are playing games, so I will post pictures later, which will also make this email shorter. I guess so. Haha.

This week we got to visit O___, and he was interviewed for baptism. He’s getting baptized on November 21!!! We are so excited! He’s progressing so well. We taught him about tithing and fast offerings, and he called us later in the evening asking us questions that he had about it. He’s so cool.

We were also about to visit C___ multiple times this week. She is so great! We are trying to teach her and it’s…kind of working. She loves learning from us. She asked us some questions and basically said, “Our beliefs match up so much! I should just be a Mormon!!” She’s awesome.

On Thursday, Elder Nang and I went on exchanges. Elder Anderton and I worked in Bloomington. Miracles happened! We went to go see this one referral we got like three months ago, finally met him last week. So Elder Anderton and I went to go visit him. He let us in and was talking to us. He is having heart problems, and he said that during trials like this, he really turns to God. We asked him some questions about what church he goes to. He said, “Um, it was back in Long Beach, California. I think it was named The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.”

We had to pick our jaws up from off the floor, because that was a total surprise to us. He is a super sweet guy and was baptized back in 1980. He wants to come back to church and participate, but his heart problems are preventing him from driving. That’s a challenge we will over come!

We also had Stake Conference this past weekend, and boy was it good. President Kerr challenged the stake to start a stake-wide fast for missionary work! It was great and miracles will happen.

In the Zone and Thankful!

Yesterday, we had Richard Paul Evans come speak to us. It was sooooooo good. He’s like a world-renowned author or something, and he gave a powerful testimony. I just feel so pumped to do work now!

Short email this week, but the turkey is cooked and the games are being played, so I’ll write you more next week! Love you all!
